What is included in a new domain list?

Each download contains domain names, one per line, in a gzip-compressed text file (.txt.gz). The latest file and historical downloads show their observation dates, domain counts, and compressed sizes.

The list helps you discover additions to the collected domain data. It does not include registrant contact details, verified company launches, website content, or a registration timestamp for each name.

Newly observed vs. newly registered domains

A newly registered domain has a registration event. A newly observed domain has appeared in the collected data. The two dates can differ, so this daily list should not be treated as a verified feed of registration events.

If your workflow depends on registration age, verify that separately using suitable registration data. A new domain also does not establish that a website is active or that a business has just launched.

For full dated domain populations, explore historical snapshots. For domains disappearing from the data, use expired / removed domain lists.

Download and filter new domains with the API

Download the latest list and stream it through Python to find names containing a term relevant to your research. This example searches for cloud.

The filter reads one line at a time rather than loading the entire dataset into memory.
